Richard Jensen

Rich Jensen is a principal and co-owner of BRS Consulting. In addition to his services as an advisor for BRS clients, he serves as chief financial and investment officer for the BRS companies. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1982 with an engineering degree. After 5 years in the field of engineering, he founded his own financial consulting firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, later moving to American Express Financial Advisors as a Senior Financial Advisor and District Manager. He then moved to Prudential Financial in Newark, NJ, where he served as Branch Manager, Managing Director, and ultimately, Vice-President of Financial Planning. In these roles he managed offices with $3.5 Billion of assets and helped create and develop Prudential’s fee-based financial planning platform. Prior to forming BRS with David Sims, Rich spent four years working with major donors to an international non-profit based out of Little Rock, Arkansas. Rich married Mary in 1985, and they have three children and one perfect grandchild.

David Sims

David Sims, JD PhD, is a principal and co-owner of BRS Consulting, Inc., and BRS Financial, LLC (a Registered Investment Advisor, CRD 158566). David provides integrated financial and legal advice for high net income and net worth BRS clients focused on their particular planning needs (business, cash flow, estate, professional practice, strategy, tax, non-profit private foundation and public charity, succession planning, peacemaking and conflict resolution). He is insurance and securities licensed (Series 63 and 65) and is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and Florida. Legal services are not provided through the BRS companies. In addition to his services as an advisor for BRS clients, he serves as chief compliance and content officer for the BRS companies. David married Tamara in 1986, and they have eight children. David is the author of The Child in American Evangelicalism and the Problem of Affluence (Pickwick, 2009). He is a graduate from the University of Florida (B.S. Business/Finance, 1983; Juris Doctor, 1986), Reformed Theological Seminary (M.A.T.S., 1994), and the University of Durham (Ph.D. in Theology, 2006).

Matt Haas

Matt Haas, MBA, focuses his planning practice primarily in the areas of insurance and merchant processing consultation for businesses. He worked for Bank of America Merchant Services for 14 years and over that time developed an expertise in helping businesses save thousands of dollars in merchant processing fees while at the same time improving the quality of service. Matt graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1998 and completed his MBA with an emphasis in Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate at the University of Memphis in 1999. Matt is very involved at New Life Church where he serves as a deacon and recently helped start the Special Needs ministry. He also serves as a board member of the Kingdom Missions Fund and Community Connections. Matt has been married to his beautiful wife, D’Lisa, since 2004 and they have 3 amazing children. He is passionate about family, church, business, and sports.

Martin Northern

Martin Northern, MBA, joined BRS in 2014 and has been a highly successful financial advisor for over 30 years. He is insurance licensed and holds the Series 3, 7, 24, 63, 65, and 79 securities licenses. He focuses his financial planning practice primarily in the areas of personal financial planning and retirement planning that integrates securities investments with risk management analysis and suitable fixed products such as annuities and insurance. He is also an expert in investment banking for church and non-profit organizations, church finance consulting, and church finance underwriting. Martin has two adult children and is passionate about his family and assisting Christians and churches in building responsible stewardship in all aspects of their lives and congregational lives together.

Gordon Jensen

Gordon Jensen joined BRS in 2016 after graduating with honors from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is insurance and securities licensed. Joining the BRS team has afforded Gordon with the opportunity to bring his analytical mind, highly relational nature, and millennial perspective to the BRS workplace. He enjoys combining the business knowledge he learned at UCA with the firm’s unique methodology of stewardship. As he grows his client base, Gordon assists with the administration of the team’s marketing efforts and technological needs. He is married to his beautiful wife Kaitlyn.

Stephen McClure

Stephen McClure serves BRS business clients in executive development, general management, P&L review and management, mergers and acquisition, and private equity consultation. His early career was with General Electric in the marketing/sales vertical channel. He worked a variety of international assignments in Europe, Asia & South America which allowed him to progress to general management and P&L responsibility. In the mid 1990s he joined a private company (International Components Corporation) in Chicago that was supplying battery charging solutions in medical, communications, data server and storage, handheld data, power tools and consumer electronics markets. Stephen worked in a variety of senior management positions at ICC until appointed by the Board as CEO in early 2002. Under his executive leadership, ICC became a global leader, developer and manufacturer of innovative rechargeable power systems for portable applications such as cell phones and surgical equipment. He led ICC in the acquisition of a number of companies in ICC’s space, and then led the company through complex sales transactions to private equity groups in 2011 and then again in 2014, both of which involved favorable liquidity events and equity rolled into the transactions. In 2015, Stephen led his company through an acquisition of the largest competitor in its space and brought in a new CEO, at which time he transitioned to Chairman of the Board. He retired from the Board of Directors in 2016. Stephen graduated from Georgia Tech in 1974. He was a wide receiver for the Rambling Wreck and a Kappa Sigma while at Tech as an undergrad.

Roger Lankford

Roger Lankford is an investment banker with 33 years of experience. His primary focus has been on underwriting and successfully assisting non-profit entities with financial planning and securing long term financing. Roger has held upper management positions in several of the most prominent U.S. investment banking firms specializing in non-profit organization finance. Utilizing innovative solutions and approaches that integrate capital stewardship programs with financing, Roger has successfully helped churches and schools finance numerous multi-million dollar capital projects over the past 33 years. He has been an active member in local ministry and community activities, including pastoral and church elder leadership and as President of the Baker County (Florida) Fair Association. Roger is also trained as a life coach assisting individuals and families in navigating life’s challenges.
