Richard Jensen

Rich Jensen is a principal and co-owner of BRS Consulting. In addition to his services as an advisor for BRS clients, he serves as chief financial and investment officer for the BRS companies. Rich is life/health insurance licensed and has passed the Series 65 examination. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1982 with an engineering degree. After 5 years in the field of engineering, he founded his own financial consulting firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, later moving to American Express Financial Advisors as a Senior Financial Advisor and District Manager. He then moved to Prudential Financial in Newark, NJ, where he served as Branch Manager, Managing Director, and ultimately, Vice-President of Financial Planning. In these roles he managed offices with $3.5 Billion of assets and helped create and develop Prudential’s fee-based financial planning platform. Prior to forming BRS with David Sims, Rich spent four years working with major donors to an international non-profit based out of Little Rock, Arkansas. Rich married Mary in 1985, and they have three children and two perfect grandchildren.

David Sims, AIF®

David Sims, JD PhD, is a principal and co-owner of BRS Consulting, Inc., and BRS Financial, LLC (a Registered Investment Advisor, CRD 158566). David provides integrated financial and legal advice for high net income and net worth BRS clients focused on their particular planning needs (business, cash flow, estate, professional practice, strategy, tax, non-profit private foundation and public charity, succession planning, peacemaking and conflict resolution). He is life/health insurance licensed, passed the Series 63 and 65 examination, and is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and Florida. Legal services are not provided through the BRS companies. In addition to his services as an advisor for BRS clients, he serves as chief compliance and content officer for the BRS companies. David married Tamara in 1986, and they have eight children. David is the author of The Child in American Evangelicalism and the Problem of Affluence (Pickwick, 2009). He is a graduate from the University of Florida (B.S. Business/Finance, 1983; Juris Doctor, 1986), Reformed Theological Seminary (M.A.T.S., 1994), and the University of Durham (Ph.D. in Theology, 2006).

Matt Haas

Matt Haas, MBA, focuses his planning practice primarily in the areas of insurance and merchant processing consultation for businesses. He is life/health insurance licensed and has passed the Series 65 examination. Matt worked for Bank of America Merchant Services for 14 years and over that time developed an expertise in helping businesses save thousands of dollars in merchant processing fees while at the same time improving the quality of service. He graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1998 and completed his MBA with an emphasis in Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate at the University of Memphis in 1999. Matt is very involved at New Life Church where he serves as a deacon and recently helped start the Special Needs ministry. He also serves as a board member of the Kingdom Missions Fund and Community Connections. Matt has been married to his beautiful wife, D’Lisa, since 2004 and they have 3 amazing children. He is passionate about family, church, business, and sports.

Martin Northern

Martin Northern, MBA, joined BRS in 2014 and has been a highly successful financial advisor for over 30 years. He has passed the Series 3, 7, 24, 63, 65, and 79 securities examinations, in addition to holding life, health, and property & casualty insurance licenses. He focuses his financial planning practice primarily in the areas of personal financial planning and retirement planning that integrates securities investments with risk management analysis and suitable fixed products such as annuities and insurance. He is also an expert in investment banking for church and non-profit organizations, church finance consulting, and church finance underwriting. Martin has two adult children and is passionate about his family and assisting Christians and churches in building responsible stewardship in all aspects of their lives and congregational lives together.

Gordon Jensen, AIF®

Gordon Jensen joined BRS in 2016 after graduating with honors from the University of Central Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is life/health insurance licensed and has passed the Series 65 examination. Joining the BRS team has afforded Gordon with the opportunity to bring his analytical mind, highly relational nature, and millennial perspective to the BRS workplace. He enjoys combining the business knowledge he learned at UCA with the firm’s unique methodology of stewardship. As he grows his client base, Gordon assists with the administration of the team’s marketing efforts and technological needs. He is married to his beautiful wife Kaitlyn.
